Would raising a big dog get rid of my fear of dogs?

abyssinian cat

Alright so I’ve always loved rottweilers and always wanted one but my mom wouldn’t let us have big dogs only little ones. Now I’m old enough to have my own dog and would love to have a rottweiler but I am afraid of big dogs, now I was wondering if I were to raise a rottweiler puppy would that help get rid of my fear of big dogs?

I’m determined to get rid of my fear of dogs as I would love to have a big dog to run beside me while going for a bike ride. I bike often so it would be a perfect time to exercise a dog and keep him/her in shape.

I was also wondering If I were to introduce a kitten and puppy at young age, around the time puppies and kittens are ready to be sold, would they grow up to be best friends? Saying this I would take the time to properly introduce them so that they get along but I would like them to be friends not just be ok with each other and not interact.

The type of kitten I want to get would be a Birman, Ragdoll, or an Abyssinian. Would these types of cats get along with a rottweiler or vice versa?

Thanks in advance

It would probably be better to get some counseling to deal with your fear rather than getting a dog to do it - what happens if when the puppy grows up you’re afraid of it? Once you’ve been able to conquer your fear through therapy, then yes, get a Rottie. :) If I may recommend, you should get your cat and dog from a shelter or rescue rather than breeders like you seem to have planned - there are too many homeless animals in the world to buy or let a new one be bred!

yes i believe that if you raised a big dog puppy then you will lose ur fear of big dog, u have to train then extremely good and i have a cat and a poodle who both puppies at the same time nd there best friends but dont get a special breed cat just get a stray one.

Yes you would get over your fears fast. I had the same problem an did the same thing so go for it.

About the cats. You should introduce them at a very young age yes its easier for them to get along so they dont have to fight for terrotry. I would say get them at about the same if not close to the same age as possible. It would help if they were oppiste sex.

I think yes. But first maybe get use to the big dogs so when your puppy grows up your ok with it. Try to go to a friend with rottweilers and start to pet them walk them spend time with them. Or if you don’t have a friend that does go to shelters to look at some rottweilers its good because there behind a cage you can slowly walk up to them and talk to them get use to them ask the shelter worker with you can maybe see the dog outside the cage if your ready so you can spend time with it to get use to the dog. Good luck and yes if you raise your puupy that you will buy right it will be your best pal and great older dog.
