“windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer” what do i do? help?
okay, I was on my laptop just looking around on the internet for an egyptian mau kitten i left the internet explorer open and my laptop running so i can go do some stuff. so i come back about 30-45 minutes later and my laptop is completely frozen, not even ctrl+alt+delete would work. so i had no choice but to hold down the power button to turn it off so i can restart it… and it gave me the option to start Windows repair, or start windows normally and i chose the repair one.. ad it said this…
Windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer.
This error can be caused by unplugging a removable storage device such as an external USB drive while the device is in use, or by faulty hardware such as a hard drive or CD-ROM drive that is failing. Make sure any removable storage is properly connected and then restart your computer.
If you continue to receive this error message, contact the hardware manufacturer.
File: \Boot\BCD
Status: Oxc00000e9
Info: An unexpected I/O error has occurred.
and sooooo after that i tried to choose to start it normally and it wont start up at all.. no matter how long i wait ![]()
WHAT DO I DO??
im not gunna try to “contact the hardware manufacturer” until i find something out myself..
i hope you guys can help me.
thanks. A LOT.
HOW DO YOU INSTALL A NEW WINDOWS?!?!?!?! ITS NOT LETTING ME! THE LAPTOP WONT START UP TO DO ANYTHING.

I found it on Microsoft’s website. Go to the below link. I am assuming you are using Vista.
Unplug everything connected to the computer and start in Safe mode (Keep tapping F8 or F5 as it starts up) when Windows has fully loaded reboot into normal mode then 1 at a time plug everything back in.
Do you have any devices connected like USB,wireless adapter anything if so unplug it this might be cause due to a faulty up driver or a virus that corrupted up window boot files. only way to repair this is by reinstalling window its self or using the windows CD to repair the boot files that were corrupted i will provide link to an alternative way to try to get into your PC hope this helps. look for the windows OS you have in your PC and then read on from there.
Just install a fresh copy of Windows. You’ll still have your programs, you documents/desktop will be under C:\documents and settings\(whatever your username was under the old Windows)
Assuming your hard drive ISN’T clucked up, that is.
But I bet it’s just windows.
