Bengals are lovely cats and I wondered what sort of price I might have to pay. I won’t be put off by the price but I’d like an idea if anyone can help. It might make the difference between getting one and two.

The price can range depending on the breeder, the age of the cat, and the markings. You are looking at anywhere from $500 - $1500 maybe more especially if the parent cats are popular.

We purchased a snow bengal for $350. She’s a pedigree female. We also have another female that we picked up at the shelter. It makes a huge difference to have more than one.

Bengal cats breeders should provide information on cat care when selling a kitten. The price of purebred animals of this rare breed depends on many factors, such as breeder’s reputation, condition of the kitten, its temperament and pedigree. Pet quality animals from responsible breeders cost from $500 to $1000. They should be neutered and cannot be shown. Bengal cats breeders should provide information on cat care when selling a kitten.

I recently got a kitten using the website. I did not get a Bengal, just a regular free kitten. But I saw a lot of ads for Bengal cats, you just choose your state and then it gives you cities to choose from.

Generally speaking, you can buy a pedigree Bengal kitten from $350 for a “pet quality” kitten to “$3,000″ and upwards for a “show quality” and “breeding quality” Bengal.
Please do a LOT of research before you purchase your first Bengal. They’re not like normal house cats. They have different needs from your average house cat. Their diet needs to be high in protein, and they need much more attention and exercise. Bengals can be destructive when they become bored. If you work more than 8 hours a day, or if you’re away from home or vacation often, a Bengal is NOT for you. Think of Bengals as being more like dogs than a cat. You can not leave Bengals alone for a long period of time for basically the same reasons. They’re highly interactive cats and bond strongly to their humans.
Being owned by a Bengal cat is extremely interesting, but you MUST be ready for all of the responsibilities that comes along with it. Many people become enamored with the look of the Bengal but end up getting rid of them when they realize how much work these cats can be.
Please look into The Bengal Rescue Network. There are very lovely cats who are in need of a home for the very reasons I’ve described above. There is nothing wrong with these cats, and they are much lower in price than getting one from a breeder. You may also be interested in adopting retired Bengal breeders. Both of my Bengals are adopted as retired breeders, and these also come at a much lower price (and they’re already trained!!). My 9 year old male was $150, and my 2.5 year old female was $125 (who originally cost the breeder $2,500 plus shipping and vet care).
If you have any further questions about owning a Bengal, please feel free to message me. I also recommend joining a Yahoo! Bengal group. There are lots of breeders and Bengal owners there who are happy to answer any questions you have about ownership and care.

Pet kittens can run about $800 or more from a reputable breeder who tests for temperment and breeds carefully. There are many backyard breeders of Bengals, so be careful of “cheap” cats.
